Martin McIvor - Director

Martin is the Managing Director of MJ McIvor Solicitors and has 20 years of legal experience. Martin established MJMcIvor Solicitors in 2017 with the aim of building a professional and modern law firm with a particular emphasis on client care.

Martin has a wealth of experience to include commercial and residential property, personal injury claims, Wills and Administration of Estates. Martin also undertakes Controllership work and is regularly appointed as a Professional Controller by the Office of Care and Protection.

Martin is married to Marcella and they have two children. In his spare time Martin is a keen runner and has been known to run a marathon now and again. Martin is currently the vice-chair of Omagh Harriers AC and sits on the Board of Governors of Omagh North Nursery School.

Paula Buchanan - Solicitor

Paula is an experienced Solicitor having previously worked in another firm locally and commenced her career in a large firm in Belfast. Paula has a wealth of experience in property related matters and also deals with personal injury claims, Wills, Administration of Estates and family law matters.

In her spare time Paula enjoys going to the gym and running. Paula also enjoys spending time with her family.

Maranna Devine – Solicitor

Maranna joined the firm in 2019 as a Legal Assistant having obtained her Law degree from the University of Ulster in the same year. Maranna has progressed through the firm and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2023.

Maranna has experience in a number of areas however is particularly proficient in litigation and conveyancing matters.

In her spare time Maranna enjoys long evening walks.

Rachel Kildea – Solicitor

Rachel joined the firm in 2020 as a Legal Assistant having obtained her law degree from the University of Ulster in the same year. Rachel has gained a wealth of experience and is particularly talented at analysing technical documents. Rachel began her studies at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in September 2023 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2025. Rachel has experience in dealing with conveyancing matters along with Wills, EPAs and Probate.

In her spare time Rachel devotes a large part of her time to looking after her dogs.

Mairead Gallen - Receptionist

Mairead is in charge of our front of house and is therefore the first point of contact for all clients and visitors to our office. Mairead carries out an important secretarial and administration role within the practice. Mairead has several years of experience in customer service and carries out her role with the upmost professionalism.

In her spare time Mairead enjoys shopping and picking up all the latest fashion trends.

Niamh McCaffrey- Legal Assistant

Niamh joined the practice in 2023 as a Legal Assistant having graduated from Queens University in Law. Niamh has great attention to detail and very thorough and professional in all aspects of her work.

In her spare time Niamh enjoys keeping fit and is a very talented musician, playing for local events.

Marcella McIvor – Practice Manager

Marcella joined the practice in September 2018. Her background is in teaching having qualified at University of Sunderland with a PGCE in Secondary Education. Marcella taught Information Communication Technology (ICT) for 13 years before taking up her new role as Practice Manager. She now deals with IT matters within the firm. Marcella is responsible for the Accounts Department and day to day administration of the Practice. In her spare time Marcella loves spending time with her family and has a keen interest in cooking and walking.
